Total Health for the Body, Mind and Spirit
BEGE Total Health
"Health is wealth" as the old saying goes. We understand health to mean the total wholeness of the human being. In this regards, we are committed to a holistic approach to human health. This includes public health, mental health and psychological health. We see the need to not only educate people on the real dangers of indiscriminate and unprotected sex that leads to such diseases as the HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The Muslim community in particular, tends not to discuss HIV/AIDS openly which is leading to reports of low cases among them. This cannot be allowed to continue. An aggressive and deliberate plan must be put in place to reach them with AIDS Education. Early childhood diseases are on the increase in Nigeria due to complete neglect of the health sector by the government. This is affecting mortality rate of especially rural children. Because of the breakdown in the public health sector, many diseases are not being diagnosed and mortality rate is constantly rising in the Nigerian population. We are committed to helping in this regards through a healthcare program that uses the concept of mobile clinics especially in the rural areas. We are also committed to building an ultramodern clinic/hospital at our headquarters to help in this area.
We also understand the importance of mental health in the society and are therefore committed to providing psychological services to families in distress. Pastors and other Christian workers are often overwhelmed with the problems they face from their parishioners which lead to what is commonly referred to as "ministry stress." We provide pastoral counseling to those distressed or overstressed men and women of God in ministry.
